Teaching and Learning Systems 

Mandala World Global Academy (MWGA) utilizes Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) for its Curricula and instruction. With our customized Advanced Neuroscience Curricula which includes the Methodology of Brain Targeted Teaching™ (BTT) we are able to offer high quality, unique learning opportunities to our students, Globally. MWGA offers a trimester schedule (12 weeks) courses to be delivered in a fully online and on-campus format. Brain Targeted Teaching™ (BTT) Methodology Curricula is designed with art integration to assist students with long-term learning. BTT Neuroeducation based Methodology Curricula designates the following 6 stages of Brain Targets for the teaching and learning process based on current brain research:  

There are 6 Brain Targets to be considered when constructing our unique Curricula: 

Brain Target 1: Emotional Climate focuses on the emotional well-being of the student. The positive learning climate contributes to long term memory for student Mastery.   

Brain Target 2: Physical Environment focuses on careful planning of the physical learning environment by deliberately planning for novelty, order and beauty within each learning unit.   

Brain Target 3: Learning Design focuses on the big picture for the lesson of the day and how it integrates into the Curricula within the semester. We formulate concept maps or concept webs to display an excerpt from the big picture and depict how it is situated into the big picture of the semester.  

Brain Target 4: Teaching for Mastery focuses on the actual lesson and what will be achieved during the lesson. There are readings, interactive videos, questions, poems, songs, along with a plethora of other ways to deliver a thoughtful lesson for long term learning.  

Brain Target 5: Teaching for Application is taking what has been learned throughout the semester and applying that information into a cumulative project, or paper, or group assignment that will be evaluated.  

Brain Target 6: Evaluating Learning encourages teachers to align learning objectives, instructional activities and evaluation methods while considering other Brain Targets. Teachers provide students with relevant feedback about student performance so that students can adjust their learning habits and teachers can make sound instructional decisions.  

Brain Targeted Teaching™ Methodology of Learning incorporates the following Six Brain Targets: Emotional Climate, Physical Environment, Learning Design, Teaching for Mastery, Teaching for Application and Evaluating Learning. While each Brain Target is presented separately the components of all Six Brain Targets are interrelated to achieve students’ learning Mastery.
